• Enjoy a play: Shawnee Little Theatre's 51st season begins with 'Hands on a Hardbody,' which opened Friday. The Tony-nominated musical, based on true events, tells the story of 10 hard-luck Texans who enter a contest to keep at least one hand on a brand-new truck the longest in order to win it. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22, 27, 28 and 29, and at 2 p.m. on Sept. 23. Season tickets for 2018-2019 will be on sale at the box office during the run of the show.

• Check out Outlaw Motor Sports: The excitement won't stop with Outlaw Motorsports' Kart Racing Series at the Expo Center, 1700 W. Independence, on Saturday, Sept. 22. Gates will open at 10 a.m. General admission is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and admission is free for children age 5 and under. Races will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.

• Check out the Australian Pink Floyd show: Having sold over four million tickets in concerts that have taken place in 35 countries, The Australian Pink Floyd Show comes to Shawnee on Saturday, Sept. 22 ath e Grand Casino Hotel Resort. • Eat pancakes and help local students: The Bethel FFA Pancake Breakfast will be from 5:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 or until the pancakes are gone. The event, which is $5 per person, will be at the ag barn on Hardesty Road, just west of the feed store/farmers market. Pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk and juice will be served; all proceeds go back to the kids.
