ASHER — Pitcher Jordan Odell shook off a shaky second inning and Asher came from behind to defeat Maysville 8-6 and capture a district tournament championship Thursday.

Asher retaliated with single runs in the fourth and fifth to pull within 6-5, then added three runs in the sixth for the win.

Odell, in seven innings, surrendered six hits, fanned three and walked three.

Odell and Sarah Fleming notched two hits apiece to propel Asher’s seven-single attack. Ryan Herndon and Odell scored twice.

Asher also defeated Maysville 7-3 Wednesday as Odell went 3 for 4 with a triple and two singles. Herndon added two singles.

Regional tournament play is scheduled Sept. 27-28.
