TECUMSEH — A four-run second inning carried Tecumseh to a 7-5 triumph over Byng Thursday.

Harley Sturm cracked a 2-run single in the second while Ayzia Shirey drew a bases-loaded walk and Kylee Akehurst was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Byng drew within 6-5 after 4 ½ innings but the Lady Savages added a run in the bottom of the fifth.,

Tccumseh finished with six hits, including Emily Bingham’s double. Channing Scallorn added two singles.

Sturm, who went the first 5 1/3 innings, got the win after allowing five runs and seven hits. She fanned three and walked four.

Akehurst closed the game by permitting no hits or walks in 1 2/3 innings.

Tecumseh, 14-11, will travel to Chandler Monday.
