CHANDLER — Meeker and Chandler saw their fast-pitch seasons come to an end Friday but not before they had one more shot at each other.
In Friday’s Class 3A Regional 4 Tournament elimination matchup, Chandler’s Kylee Lynch fired a three-hitter in whipping Meeker 2-0.
Lynch was outstanding, striking out 10 and walking two in a 136-pitch outing.
Meeker pitching counterpart Madison Gabeau also sparkled, allowing only one earned run and fanning three. Gabeau gave up nine hits.
Chandler launched the scoring in the top of the second as Mallory Lowery drove in a run on a fielder’s choice. Morgan Fowble drove in a run with a fifth-inning single.
Meeker concluded the season at 17-12.
Chandler then had to defeat Holdenville twice to move to the state tournament. Holdenville wouldn’t cooperate, tallying eight runs in the bottom of the first en route to a 12-9 triumph. Chandler tallied four runs in the ninth.
Chandler committed five errors, leading to eight unearned runs off Lynch. Lynch surrendered 11 hits, whiffed six and walked three.
Lynch headed Chandler’s 10-hit attack with a double and two singles in four plate appearances.
Makalyn Herring doubled.
