EDMOND — Despite being outhit 9-5, Tecumseh outlasted Edmond Memorial 6-2 Friday at the Oklahoma Christian Festival.
Starter Kylee Akehurst of Tecumseh permitted all nine hits in 5 2/3 innings of duty. Akehurst, however, didn’t give up an earned run as Tecumseh was guilty of four errors.
Reliever Harley Sturm went the final 1/3 of an inning with one walk. The game was stopped after six innings.
Memorial stranded 10 baserunners and committed five errors.
Tecumseh’s Channing Scallorn, Emily Bingham, Taylor Frizzell, Shaelee Cranford and Sturm posted a single apiece. Frizzell drove in two runs.
Ayzia Shirey and Strurm stole a base.
Tecumeh, 17-11, will entertain Choctaw at 5 p.m. Monday to end the regular season. The Savages will participate in a four-team double elimination regional Thursday at Lone Grove.
