Shawnee police on Friday released the name of the person injured when a late-night altercation escalated to a shooting that left another man dead earlier this week in Shawnee.

Shawnee Police Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford said Braylan Auskin Franklin, 19, remained hospitalized in Oklahoma City Friday with undisclosed injuries.

Police initially responded about 11:38 p.m. Tuesday to Linden Apartments, 315 S. Kennedy. for a shots fired report.

What began as a disturbance in the parking lot escalated into a shooting.

One male, who was identified as Robert Brannon Jr., 21, was transported by personal vehicle to SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Shawnee for medical treatment, she said, but Brannon later died from his injuries.

The other male, identified Friday as Franklin, was transported in critical condition to Oklahoma City by REACT EMS ambulance. Lozano-Stafford reported him to be in stable condition Friday.

No details on what happened between the two men or what prompted the shooting have been released by police as this case remains under investigation.
