FORT COBB — Top-seeded Dale breezed through a Class A fall baseball regional by swarming Navajo, 10-2, and Fort Cobb-Broxton, 11-2, Friday.
By winning the regional, Dale advances to the Class A State Tournament Thursday through Saturday at Edmond Memorial High School.
Dale, 21-6, will warm up for state by entertaining Red Oak Monday.
Against Navajo, Dale compiled 11 hits with Bryce Crawford, David Herring, Carson Hunt and Cade McQuain chalking up a double apiece. Crawford, the leadoff batter, was 3 for 3 with two runs and a RBI. He also stole three bases.
Jared Rogers and Tanner Collins drove in two runs each.
Pirate starter Carson Hunt went the first three innings, permitting one hit and no runs. Jaxon Wright, who pitched the last four innings, surrendered six hits and two runs, one of which was earned.
Opposite Fort Cobb-Broxton, Dale collected 13 hits while playing errorless ball.
Jono Johnson and Rogers went 3 for 5 with each possessing a double. Also doubling for the Pirates were Cooper Hunt, Cade McQuain and Crawford.
McQuain and Rogers drove in three runs each.
Dale employed three pitchers with starter Cooper Hunt fanning five and not giving up a run in four innings. Ryan Haney went the next two innings, striking out two and allowing no hits or runs. He fanned two.
