In other business, the board will consider a resolution declaring certain items of personal property surplus and authorizing the sale of said items at auction or disposal at the City of Shawnee/Shawnee Regional Airport’s discretion; with all funds collected to be allocated to the Shawnee Regional Airport.

“Staff has undertaken an assessment of vehicles, equipment and materials owned by, or otherwise stored at, the Shawnee Regional Airport to determine what if any value these items provide to the operation and maintenance of the facility,” Airport Manager Bonnie Wilson said. “Having determined that certain real and personal property in its current state provides no value to the airport, staff made inquiries with an internet-based auction service to explore the opportunity to declare the property surplus and offer it for sale to the highest bidder.”

She said items include an aircraft tug, a Broyce Pavement Sweeper, lights and signage, a large metal machinery enclosure, a photoelectric switch and two air handlers.

Another agenda item states City Commissioners may amend city employees' benefit plan to include an early retirement option.

Also, Mayor Richard Finley will proclaim Oct. 7-13, 2018, Fire Prevention Week.

The only items set for the Municipal Authority and Airport Authority are to approve the minutes from the last meetings.

The 6 p.m. meeting will take place Monday in the Bertha Ann Young City Commission Chambers at City Hall, at 16 W. 9th St.
