SHAWNEE – The Lady Wolves honored their seniors with a match win over Class 5A No. 12 El Reno Thursday evening.

Class 6A No. 12 Shawnee (24-8) won in straight sets, 25-8, 25-10, 25-15 on Senior Night.

“We played great this evening,” Coach Julia Holland said. “We were able to get our offense going and to run some things to get us prepared for next week. I am very proud of how the girls played this evening. They hustled for everything. Our defense made sure nothing hit the floor in the back row, and our front row attackers were unstoppable.”

With the win, Shawnee won the Suburban Conference Championship.

Ashley Kasterke's final home performance led the way. She registered 12 kills, two aces and five digs.

Fellow seniors, Olivia Barlean contributed two aces and 10 digs. Payton McNeil had one kill and one ace and Shyra Crowley chipped in five kills.

Scotlyn Britt was on fire, serving six aces.

Brooklyn Fluke was her usual self, adding 15 kills, one ace and five digs.

The freshman squad won 25-18, 25-19 and the junior varsity came out victorious, 25-16, 25-18.

On Oct. 9, Shawnee will travel to Norman North to begin the regional tournament. They will face Putnam City North at 6 p.m.
