Rebecca “Becky” Adele Samsel, 67, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, peacefully passed Oct. 10, 2018,
reuniting with loved ones in heaven. Becky was born Nov. 3, 1950, in Shawnee. She graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1969. She was an excellent musician, talented on the clarinet. She enjoyed attending the ballet, and was a lifelong supporter of the arts.
Her career was one of compassion. She shared her life by caring for others as a nurse in Oklahoma City hospitals and home health services. She engaged her community through volunteer work. A dedicated mother, Becky never missed a sports game or band concert played by her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mildred Huff. She leaves behind her daughter, Lauren Samsel of Shawnee, granddaughter, Jett Cornelison of Tacoma, Washington, and
brother, Kent Huff of Shawnee. She left a lasting impression on friends in Oklahoma and Washington. Many consider Becky to be the kindest person they’ve ever known. Her life of service is outshined only by her incomparable motherhood.
Everyone remembering Becky is asked to celebrate her life by cherishing each moment,
spending time with family, and practicing kindhearted acts. Memorial services will follow.
