A former McLoud police officer has been arrested on sex crimes complaints and an investigation is continuing, the McLoud police chief confirms.
A warrant with a $25,000 bond was issued Tuesday for Justin M. Rahlf, 35, court records show, and he was booked into the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center after his arrest. He has since been released on bond.
According to a press release from McLoud Police Chief Tom Pringle, the department began investigating in September after receiving information that one of its former officers may have engaged in inappropriate and possibly criminal conduct of a sexual nature while on duty.
MPD contacted the Pottawatomie County District Attorney's Task Force and began an investigation and they were able to identify a victim, Pringle said.
On Oct. 16, Pringle said Rahlf was arrested on complaints of forcible oral sodomy and indecent exposure. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
"We will have no further comment at this time as the investigation is ongoing," Pringle said.
Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to contact McLoud police or the District Attorney's office.
