A Macomb man died overnight after being struck by a pickup being driven by his wife, deputies said.

Pottawatomie County Undersheriff Travis Palmer said deputies responded to a home on SH 59B overnight for that investigation.

The couple was involved in an argument, Palmer said, when the wife tried to leave the residence in a pickup.

As she did, the male reportedly stepped in front of the pickup, the undersheriff said, and was hit.

He became stuck under pickup and was dragged 50 to 60 feet, Palmer said.

The man, Ron Sheppard, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene, Palmer said.

Alcohol was involved with both parties, Palmer said.

The woman has not been arrested, the undersheriff said, but all investigative reports will be turned over to the district attorney's office for review of any possible charges relating to this incident.
