PRAGUE — Junior Branom Bailey gave Prague an early lead over third-ranked Jones but the Longhorns dominated thereafter in a 33-6 triumph over the Red Devils Friday night.
Bailey, a 170-pound junior, ran 63 yards for a touchdown, giving the Red Devils a 6-0 lead after one quarter.
Prague trailed just 7-6 at halftime but Jones outscored the hosts 13-0 in both the third and fourth quarters to capture the District 2A-2 crown at 7-0. Jones will enter the playoffs with a 9-1 overall mark.
Prague concluded the campaign at 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the district.
Korbin Cox of Jones recorded scoring runs of 9, 4 and 10 yards. Cox, a sophomore, rushed for 134 yards on 23 carries.
Jace Farmer of Jones caught seven passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Prague outrushed Jones 160-122 but lost two fumbles. The Red Devils were 7 of 14 through the air but suffered two interceptions.
Jones didn’t commit a turnover.
Prague also had seven penalties for 85 yards.
