Shawnee High School Senior Carly Fisher, one of the two October finalists, was named The Shawnee News-Star and Patriot Auto Group Student of the Month for 2018-19.
Because of her academic excellence, moral integrity and volunteerism, Fisher is now a finalist for a chance to win a car.
Shawnee High School Assistant Principal Ray Shaffer said Fisher is a positive role model and a strong leader in a variety of school activities.
Some of her service to the community is spent volunteering at organizations like the Salvation Army, Mission Shawnee, Red Cross, Family Promise, Community Renewal and Saving Pets at Risk.
Leadership activities include holding various offices in Student Council and Tri-Hi-Y, Fields of Faith coordinator, and attending leadership workshops.
Noting her high morals and ethics, Shaffer said Fisher is mature in her actions, is always positive and happy, and is an encouraging leader.
