She is survived by her husband, David Smith of the home, father-in-law, Jim Smith, of Macomb, brothers Phillip D. Kennedy (Angie) of Mississippi and J. Bruce Kennedy of Alabama, sister and brother-in-law Kendra Lee and Jason Newgard of Iowa, her uncle, Therman Fowler, Jr. (Sheila) of Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews, along with other loving family and friends.

Jacqui was a strong and kind woman, her smile would light up the room. She loved animals and couldn’t pass up helping an animal in need, especially neighborhood stray cats. Jacqui was also a fantastic cook. At family get-togethers, Jacqui’s dishes were always a highlight of the meal.

A celebration of life will be held at the Shawnee Senior Center, 401 N. Bell Street, this Saturday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share stories, laugh, cry and enjoy a game of pool, ping pong or chess.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, perhaps your local food pantry or animal shelter.
