Area teams failed to impress voters in this week's basketball polls.
Dale teams stayed in their spots in 2A after road wins over scrappy Bethel squads Friday.
The Pirates are still 2A's No. 1 team and the Lady Pirates are still at No. 2 behind Howe. Dale was off Tuesday in preparation for the OBU Invitational that will also feature Meeker and McLoud.
Shawnee's Lady Wolves beat a top ten team in 4A in their only game last week and dropped from 9th to 11th in the 6A rankings.
They blew out 5A No. 11 El Reno Tuesday and they compete in the Bishop Kelley Tournament this weekend. That will give the Lady Wolves a chance to prove themselves before the next rankings are released.
Prague's Lady Red Devils also won their first game and dropped in the rankings. They slipped from 6th to 7th in 3A despite beating Meeker Friday.
The Lady Red Devils beat Stroud 53-29 Tuesday and they head to Seminole Friday before the next rankings come out.
Seminole had better luck. After going to state this spring, the Chieftains started the year at No. 19 in 4A. After two wins to open the year, they improved to 13th in the rankings.
The Chieftains topped Wewoka Tuesday night and they host Prague in their home opener Friday.
Earlsboro dropped out of the rankings in Class A after dropping to 5-3 on the year. The Wildcats picked up a win in their second shot at New Lima Tuesday night in the Little River Conference Tournament after falling to New Lima 66-63 in the first meeting.
It is still early so some teams are still getting credit for last year's success and others will be overlooked until their record proves they belong among the best teams in their classes.
