TULSA — Tulsa Edison outscored Shawnee 15-14 in overtime to record a 70-69 triumph Thursday night in first-round action of the Tulsa Kelley Tournament.
The OT difference came at the free-throw line where Edison was 6 of 8 while Shawnee was just 1 of 3.
Regulation play concluded with a tie at 55.
Senior Tyler Huebert was Shawnee’s top scorer with 18 points, eight of which came in the overtime on two 3-point field goals and one 2-pointer.
DeAndre Love, also a senior, finished with 16 points and Joe Maytubby had 11.
Tanner Morris came in with 10, including two 3-pointers. Love also posted a trey.
The Wolves led 29-23 at halftime but Edison outscored SHS 19-12 in the third quarter.
Loddie Combs was Edison’s leading scorer with 18, including two 3-pointers. Quentin Asberry and Kalon Finley posted 17 apiece. Finley hit all six of his overtime free throws.
Shawnee, 1-2, drops into an 11:30 a.m. consolation game today opposite Tulsa Webster.
