After a three-day candidate filing concluded for open school board seats on Dec. 5, elections developed for Asher, Bethel, Dale and South Rock Creek, but a Bethel candidate has withdrawn from the race for Bethel Office No. 4.
On Friday, Joe Morlan, one of the two Bethel candidates, filed formal papers to withdraw from the race, Pottawatomie County Election Board Secretary Jeannie Stover said.
As a result, candidate Aaron Ross will win the Bethel Office No. 4 seat unopposed.
Elections will still be needed in the following school districts:
• Asher - Office No. 4: Jacob Leba and Trent Boles.
• Dale - Office No. 4: Josh Clark and Chris Ross.
• South Rock Creek - Office No. 1: Bud Jeffrey and Angela Motley.
The Board of Education positions will be filled at the General Election on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
