Billy "Bill" Hayes Herrin, 76, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday at his home on Dec. 1, 2018.

Billy "Bill" Hayes Herrin, 76, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday at his home on Dec. 1, 2018.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Tecumseh Church of God, 2401 E Walnut, Tecumseh. Rev. Eric Wilburn, nephew, and Rev. Todd Tiffin will officiate.

Bill was born Feb. 17, 1942, in Comanche to Franklin Herrin and Melba Cleo Melvin.

He graduated from Carnegie High and was working for a construction company in Shawnee when he went to lunch at The Grand Café on April 21, 1963. He met the love of his life there, Billie "Sue" Snider. They eloped after seven days, got married on April 28 in Durant. They were best friends for 52 years.

They both worked in the family businesses, The Grand Café, Wide Awake Café, BB&G Marine and Town Talk Café. Later, they owned a local Dominoe Parlor & Deli, Later, Bill drove a truck for Dale Brown in OKC and Car Mart.

He loved working with wood works, going to the lake with his family, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife's parents; sister, Dorothy, brothers-in-law, Bob McGowan and George Snider; sisters-in-law Bonnie McGowan and Patricia Snider; infant twins, Billy Mitchell and Dana Doreen.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Herrin, her fiancé, Darold M.Madden; son, Michael and husband, Kevin Herrin-Ross; foster grandson, Daniel Rogers. sister, Frances Roberta and Don Wright; brothers, Raymond Leon Herrin, Jerry and Glenda Tilley; numerous nephews/nieces.
