SHAWNEE – Earlsboro picked up a nice victory over the weekend.

Even though their best player is no longer with the team, the Wildcats found a way to bring home a third place trophy at the Little River Conference Tournament.

With one minute left on the clock, Micah Trenton missed two free throws. Luckily his teammate Trenton Nadeau was under the basket as he grabbed an offensive rebound and tied to game at 64-64.

Paden had a chance to take the lead, but Nadeau hauled in another rebound. With :23.9 left on the clock, Micah Anderson made two free throws and Earlsboro took a 64-66 lead.

Paden’s next trip up the floor resulted in a turnover after a steal from Izaiah Wind all but iced the game.

Anderson went on to miss both free-throws, but grabbed his own rebound and was fouled yet again. This time, with :04 left, he connected on the first and forced Paden to take a long three for the tie.

Earlsboro ended up winning 67-64.

The Lady Wildcats fell to Paden 47-34 in the consolation round.

Both teams return to action Dec. 11 at Macomb.
