Jim Burton, CEO of Shawnee Tubing Industries, LLC (STI) announced that STI has signed a long-term lease with Shawnee Tubing Real Estate, LLC (STRE) a real estate group consisting of 20 local economic development, business and community leaders and investors.

The long-term lease ensures the continuity of plant operations at a site which has manufactured a range of high-quality copper tubing products since 1974, supplying world-class products to a mix of global manufacturers including Carrier, Trane, Whirlpool, Amana and others in the HVAC, plumbing, energy, vehicle, machinery and other industries.

Burton said, “In July 2018, American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC) purchased the business and committed millions of dollars to working capital and capital equipment improvements.

AIAC, which owns 77 factories in 24 countries (including the nearby Avara Pharmaceutical plant in Norman) has already invested $10 million in STI and looks forward to growing the business and providing jobs for the greater Shawnee community. STI is a business unit of AIAC’s metals group which includes Champlain Cable Corporation and Neotiss.

“All of us at STI want to thank the STRE Board and Investors for their passion to bring economic development and jobs to the area,” Burton said. “The investment and revitalization of STI couldn’t have been possible without the strong economic development support in Shawnee and STRE’s contributions to that vision. In addition, we encourage our customers, employees and community members to keep up with STI news by visiting our new web site at www.shawneetubing.com.”
