BETHEL ACRES — It was an even split in Tuesday’s Tecumseh-Bethel doubleheader.

Bethel’s girls launched the evening with a 44-13 victory, followed by a 42-30 Tecumseh boys’ win.

In the opener, Tecumseh’s girls trailed 11-1 after the first quarter and were down 24-9 at halftime.

Tecumseh, 1-6, hit just 4 of 39 shots from the floor.

Kennedy Gregory fueled Bethel with 12 points, followed by Kelsie Wood with nine. Six other Lady Wildcats scored.

Tawny Billy led Tecumseh’s scoring with six.


In the nightcap, Bethel fought back within 31-27 after three quarters, only to be outscored 11-3 over the final eight minutes.

Senior Jayden Shafer tallied a game-high 14 points, including Tecumseh’s only 3-pointer. Junior Jacob Green chipped in with 10.

For Bethel, Devin Acklin recorded a team-high 10 points. Anthony Franklin added five.

Acklin registered two 3-point field goals. Tecumseh was 9 of 10 from the charity stripe with Shafer going 3 of 4.

Tecumseh’s Edward Carey netted 10 rebounds. Teammate Kainan Ryan added five steals.
