MACOMB — Down by seven points with four minutes remaining, Macomb rallied to claim a 51-49 triumph over Earlsboro Tuesday night.
After Chance Bohannon’s trey put Earlsboro up by seven, Curtis Taron answered with a 3-pointer of his own and the Hornets hung on for the win.
Taron, who knocked down four 3-point field goals — two in the fourth quarter — led Macomb with 14 points. Alex Barry netted 12 points, including a layup with :30 remaining for the final score.
Ian Horn finished with 11 points for Macomb.
For Earlsboro, Micah Anderson posted a game-high 21 points, including one trey. Bohannon finished with 14 points and teammate Trenton Nadeau had 11.
“This was a big win for our program,” Macomb coach Matt Riggs said. “To beat a quality program like Earlsboro — I am pretty proud of our guys being able to give ourselves a chance at the win.”
Macomb will travel to Butner Friday night, then go to Wanette next Tuesday night.
Earlsboro will be idle until a Jan. 4 home game opposite Sasakwa.
