McLOUD — Head coach Doug Armstrong of McLoud employed 13 players Tuesday night en route to a 70-22 dismantling of Little Axe.

Eleven Lady Redskins scored, topped by sophomore Cheyenne Banks with 22. Senior Karlie Norwood totaled 11 while Kailyn Logan came in with seven.

Armstrong’s crew, 5-2, led 36-13 at halftime.

“Offensively, especially in the second half, we moved the ball better,” Armstrong said. “Our energy was decent, considering we had back-to-back games. Tonight, everybody on the floor competed.”

McLoud was 7 of 13 from the line. Little Axe was 2 of 10.

Desira Jones knocked down two of McLoud’s five 3-point field goals.

McLoud will travel to Stroud Friday, then square off against Chandler at noon Saturday at Chesapeake Arena.

Sophomore Tristan Crook compiled a career-high 28 points as McLoud held off Little Axe 56-52.

McLoud trailed 40-36 entering the fourth quarter but outscored the visitors 20-12 down the stretch as Crook strung together 13 points. Crook hit four vital free throws late in the game.

Brandon Vinson of McLoud hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with 12 points. Teammate Brandon Hadl had eight points.

Little Axe had eight 3-point field goals to just one for McLoud.

McLoud, 4-3, will engage Stroud Friday, then take on Chandler at 1:30 Saturday at Chesapeake.
