CHANDLER — Seminole recorded 10 steals Tuesday night in downing Chandler 67-53.

The steals often led to fast-break points as Seminole ran its record to 5-0.

Up just 33-31 at the intermission, Seminole launched the second half with a 10-0 run to take control.

Senior Dayton Jackson was Seminole’s leading scorer with 18, followed by Jaxon Bond with 17. Cepado Wilkins and Trevor Brinker compiled 10 apiece.

Bond and teammate Cade Conn registered three 3-pointers apiece. Jackson and Cade Hammond notched one each.

For Chandler, senior Tanner German led all scorers with 21. Senior Chabon Anderson came in with 18, including the only Lion 3-pointer.

Brinker led all rebounders with 13 and Jackson pulled down 11.

“We just grinded this one out,” Seminole coach Josh Edenborough said. “That’s been our identity. We’ve had to grind out all five of our victories.”

Seminole is ranked 14th in Class 4A.


The Lady Lions received 14 points from Lauren Masquat and 11 from Jaelyn Robertson in a 55-31 victory over Seminole.

Masquat delivered three of Chandler’s eight 3-point field goals.

Morgan Fowble drained two treys on the way to an eight-point night.

Chandler led Seminole just 15-13 at halftime but went on a 30-6 binge in the third quarter for a 45-19 advantage.

Anna Andrews, Seminole’s leading scorer with eight, posted the only two Lady Chieftain 3-pointers.

Seminole knocked down 10 of 17 free throws. Chandler was 9 of 18.

Both Seminole squads will play at Byng Friday, then end the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule Tuesday, Dec. 18 at Ada.

Chandler will be home Friday against Cushing, then conclude the pre-Christmas part of their schedule Tuesday, Dec. 18 at Jones.
