Cargo Ranch and Life.Church celebrated the beginning of their fourth year of partnership by hosting a Christmas party for the families served by Cargo Ranch. Children, families, and volunteers enjoyed a festive evening together at the ranch the week before Christmas.

“The partnership between Cargo Ranch and Life.Church is a perfect example of each part of the church working together to bring glory to Christ. We are so grateful for the support we receive from partners like Life.Church,” said Carrie Carter, co-founder of Cargo Ranch.

As part of the celebration, Cargo Ranch accepted an $8,000 grant that will help the nonprofit continue to share hope and build character in children and youth by meeting their emotional and spiritual needs in an outdoor environment.

“We are so grateful we get to work alongside amazing partners like Cargo Ranch that are truly make a difference in our community,” said Ian Brown, Life.Church Shawnee LifeGroup/LifeMissions Pastor. “The team at Cargo Ranch has created an incredible environment to share hope and build character in children and youth in Pottawatomie County, and we’re thrilled to support the great work they’re doing.”

Cargo Ranch is a faith-based non-profit organization that desires to see change in the community. The Ranch is a place where kids who face challenges or obstacles in life are able to spend time with God's creation. Each week session leaders and students spend time doing a small chore and working with horses. Other activities are also available for kids and their mentors. Students are selected for the mentorship program as space and session leaders become available. For more information, visit
