W.T. “Buck” Buckmaster, 89 a former resident of Shawnee, passed away Dec. 17, 2018, in Lynn Haven, Florida.
W.T. “Buck” Buckmaster, 89 a former resident of Shawnee, passed away Dec. 17, 2018, in Lynn Haven, Florida. Buck was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Macomb, Oklahoma, to Alford and Neal Buckmaster. Buck served in the Air Force for four years. He later went to work for the Shawnee Police Department, eventually retiring as the Police Chief. Buck also worked for a period of time at the Macomb Post Office. He and Pearl attended Praise Assembly of God Church in Shawnee. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Texoma. Buck was known for always having two of everything so if someone else needed something he had an extra for them. Buck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Buck is survived by his wife, Pearl Buckmaster; son, Dennis Buckmaster and his wife, Patty; daughter, Debra Myers and her husband, Max; grandchildren, Timothy Holley, Jeff Buckmaster, Jarrod Buckmaster, Jacob Buckmaster, Joey Buckmaster, Kristy Reeves, Allycia Houston, Kayla Barwick; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene VanVliet and her husband, George; brother, Stanley Buckmaster and his wife, Carol and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at Praise Assembly of God Church in Shawnee.
