Shawnee police are still investigating two separate armed robberies of women that occurred before Christmas.

In both cases, the women were robbed as they arrived home after dark in two eastside neighborhoods — Northridge and the Shawnee Country Club area.

Shawnee Police Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford said there has been no new information released or leads in the investigation.

In both incidents, the suspect attempted to conceal their identity, she said, so they have no suspect descriptions.

As the women arrived home, a suspect brandished a small gun and took their purses, she said. The first incident occurred Dec. 11 and the second on Dec. 14, with both occurring after dark those evenings. The women were not physically injured during these hold-ups.

Lozano-Stafford said police encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings and call 911 if they see anything suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call Shawnee police, 405-273-2122.
