First National Bank & Trust Co. (FNB) will pay overdrafts and waive all fees for any FNB customer furloughed during the ongoing partial federal government shutdown.
“We don’t want customers who work for federal agencies to worry about overdrafts and fees in the midst of the uncertainty they are facing right now,” said Larry Briggs, president & CEO of First National Bank & Trust Co., based in Shawnee. “We value our customers and believe this is the right thing to do.”
Customers hurt by the government shutdown should contact their local branch to talk with an account representative or loan officer. To qualify for overdrafts and fee assistance, the customer must be a federal employee who has direct deposit through one of the six FNB locations.
FNB will waive fees until the government shutdown ends.
