ADA – Shawnee advanced to the semifinals of the East Central Classic with a 65-60 victory over Newcastle Thursday.

Shawnee held a 13-7 advantage after the first quarter. Jaylon Orange and J'Briell Easley both scored four points in the first quarter.

DeAndre Love scored 24 points over the next three quarters to lead the Wolves.

At halftime Shawnee led 24-22.

Love managed 12 of his 24 in the third quarter.

Easley and Love scored seven points apiece in the fourth quarter.

Shawnee made 17 of 28 from the charity stripe.

Tanner Morris connected on the lone three-pointer in the win. Morris finished with seven points.

Easley was the second Shawnee athlete in double figures with 11 points.

Class 6A No. 17 Shawnee (6-4) will face 5A No. 11 Collinsville (5-4) Friday at 5:30 p.m.
