OKLAHOMA CITY — Tecumseh’s Lady Savages cranked out their third straight triumph, a 41-39 decision over Mount St. Mary Tuesday night.

“We were down four points with 50 seconds remaining and made some big plays down the stretch,” Tecumseh coach Eldon Gentry said.

St. Mary missed a 2-point field-goal attempt at the final buzzer.

Senior Addison Day led Tecumseh with 14 points. Freshman Schantel Evans put in eight points and Tawny Billy added seven.

Tecumseh outscored the hosts 18-15 in the final quarter.

Madison Day of Tecumseh had six points on two treys.

Tecumseh, 5-10, was 10 of 12 from the line with Addison Day leading the way at 4 of 4. Mount St. Mary was just 7 of 16 from the line.


St. Mary hit Tecumseh with a 22-7 first quarter spree en route to a 65-53 victory.

Anthony Billy was Tecumseh’s high scorer with 21, followed by Jayden Shafer with 18. Billy and Shafer had one 3-pointer apiece but Tecumseh was just 2 of 14 overall from the 3-point area.

Point guard Cedric Rollerson riddled Tecumseh for 36 points, including three treys. Lorenzo Jones chipped in 14 points.

Tecumseh had 11 first-half turnovers but improved considerably in the second half with just three.

The Savages, 11-4, will take on Glendale at 5 p.m. Thursday in the opening round of the Pittsburg, Kan. Tournament.

The next action for Tecumseh’s girls will be Tuesday against visiting Bethel.
