MEEKER — Senior Levi Hayes established career highs in scoring (20) and 3-pointers (6) Tuesday night as Meeker crippled Stroud 64-49.

Three of his 3-pointers were in the second quarter, dominated 22-11 by Meeker.

Gavin Hale was Meeker’s leading scorer with 24 and Kade Brewster, a sophomore, furnished 13.

Hale recorded 17 second-half points. Brewster was 5 of 6 from the charity stripe.

Meeker, 4-9, played without Cale Coleman, sidelined with an ankle injury.

“We’re playing much better,” Meeker coach Todd Lisenbee said. “”It was a good win without Cale, who has the most varsity experience. Kade Brewster did a good job of stepping up.”

Girls

Katlyn Hughey posted 20 points and Jadyn Young aided with 19, allowing Stroud to defeat Meeker 58-41.

Stroud was never seriously threatened, leading 40-14 at the half.

Kylee Newman added 10 points for Stroud.

Hughey canned three shots from 3-point range and Young added one.

Lexi Lopez and Madison Hedge put in seven points apiece to lead Meeker, 3-10. Lopez had Meeker’s only trey.

Meeker was 14 of 26 from the line. Stroud was 12 of 17.

Both Meeker teams will entertain Prague Friday.
