Though rain has continued to slow crews down in recent months, both the 6,000 square foot restaurant to the north and 9,600 square foot retail center on the south side could be ready for business by early spring, hopefully by May 1, owner Richard Hefner said.

With seating expected to hold 140, Bar H Bar Branding Iron will offer a sit-down experience similar to other steakhouses, like Charleston's, Hefner said.

Hefner said his daughter will run the show at the new eatery, just as she does at another nearby establishment, the Bar H Bar Roadhouse, at Interstate 40 and SH 99 (Seminole exit).

Watch for updates.
