Oklahoma Baptist returned to swimming and diving competition after a lengthy layoff against Ouachita Baptist. The Bison won all 32 events in what amounted as a tune-up for NCAA Division I competition later this month.
OBU had 48 different participants in both the men and women's competition as Coach Sam Freas used the bulk of his entire roster.
The top individual effort came from Felipe Zapata who swam the fastest 100-meter backstroke in NCAA Division II. Zapata recorded a time of 57.44 seconds, nearly two seconds faster than his second-place teammate William Newman.
OBU will next compete against Southern Methodist in a dual Saturday, Sept. 26 in Dallas.
