Shawnee swimmers finished sixth overall out of 14 teams at the Jenks Invitational swim meet this weekend.

The Wolves finished sixth and the Lady Wolves came in one spot better at 5th.

Leticia Cervantes led the way for the Lady Wolves. She finished 4th in the 500-yard freestyle and 5th in the 100-yard butterfly events.

Cervantes was also on the 200-yard medley relay with Isabel Webb, Savannah Smith and Jordyn Sateren that took 4th behind teams from Jenks, Bixby and Carl Albert. Cervantes, Sateren and Webb also swam in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Aspen Chapline. That team took 3rd behind Carl Albert and Jenks.

Webb also placed 4th as an individual in the 50-yard freestyle event and 7th in the 100-yard backstroke. Sateren took 8th in the 100-yard freestyle.

Sophomore Trent Ogden led the way for the Wolves. He took 4th in the 50-yard freestyle event behind two swimmers from Jenks and one from Bishop Kelley. He also placed 5th in the 100-yard backstroke.

He also swam on the 200-yard freestyle team that took sixth place. Troy Rakestraw, Brodie Morris and Kiergan Gibson also swam on that team. Ogen, Gibson, Morris and Josh Coons swam in the 200-yard medley relay and placed 6th.

Morris also had individual success with a 6th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and an 8th place finish in the 500-yard freestyle.

Savannah Smith and Kiergan Gibson each had success in the breaststroke. Smith took 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke and Gibson took 9th in the boys 100-yard.

The next action for the swim team is the Suburban Conference meet on January 24. Regionals are February 1 and the state meet is two weeks later.
