Bethel topped rival Tecumseh for the first time in three tries Tuesday night.
The return to Tecumseh was Bethel Coach Eric Litherland's first since accepting the boys' basketball and athletic director position at Bethel this summer.
The Wildcats got off to a hot start and held off the Savages for a 58-49 win.
Bethel led 17-9 after the first quarter and 33-17 at the half.
The Savages cut the lead to seven points at the end of the third period but the Wildcats held on to win by nine.
Tecumseh's Anthony Billy led all scorers with 24 points.
Bethel was led by Drae Wood with 14 and Gage Porter and Jaylon Gordon with 11 each. Parker Hall and Devin Acklin each scored seven and Ryan Depuy and Anthony Franklin added three a piece.
Bethel (4-12) is back in action Thursday night against Jones at the Jones Tournament. Tecumseh (12-7) doesn't get back on the court until a trip to Seminole on Jan. 29.
