JONES — It was an all-victorious Thursday for Bethel’s squads at the Jones Tournament.

Bethel’s girls launched the day with a 51-27 romp over Northeast as Kennedy Gregory and Kelsie Wood led the way with 13 points apiece. Wood was accurate on three 3-point field goals in the second quarter.

Kirsten Winters put in 11 points as Bethel improved to 8-7.

Bethel took control in the second quarter, outscoring Northeast 15-3 for a 24-9 halftime advantage.

Northeast received scoring from just two players — Kianna Allen with 14 and Samone Webber with 13.

Bethel will oppose Perkins in a 3:20 semifinal clash today.


Behind a 13-point, three-trey outing by Ryan Depuy, Bethel whipped Jones 50-43.

Jaylon Gordon added 12 points and Drae Wood chipped in with nine as Bethel went to 5-12.

The Wildcats face a tough semifinal assignment at 7:20 today against third-ranked John Marshall.

“Our guys have played a lot better lately,” Bethel coach Eric Litherland said. “We’ve made some good strides.”
