Linda May Long, 76, resident of Shawnee, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.

Linda was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Tampa, Florida, to Edgar and Thelma Joyner. Her family eventually moved to Bakersfield, California, where she met and married the love of her life, Frank J. Long, on Sept. 4, 1957.

Linda enjoyed shopping — especially the shopping networks like HSN and QVC. She and her sister would talk for hours on the phone watching TV and talking about what they were going to buy! She enjoyed making silk flower arrangements and cooking; of course she had to have all the latest kitchen gadgets! She and Frank enjoyed going to the casino and often went to Vegas. Linda and Frank both came from big families, so having a large family was very important to both of them. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Linda is preceded in passing by her husband, Frank J. Long; parents, Edgar and Thelma Joyner; brothers, Tommy and Earl and her sister, Lola.

She is survived by her children, Frankie Long and his wife, Vivian, Linda Long-Runion and her husband, Will, George Long and his wife Gail, Nancy Long-Amick and her husband, Richard and Kathy Long; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jennett Flowers, Dee King, Kathy Newman Johnny and Butch Joyner and numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
