PRAGUE—The Prague Red Devils and Lady Red Devils played host to the Seminole basketball squads, Tuesday night, and the two teams traded wins. The Lady Red Devils took down the Lady Chieftains 44-33, before the Chieftains used a third quarter explosion to down Prague 48-38.

For a half, the Red Devils got the better of Seminole. In the third quarter, Cepado Wilkins and his Chieftains changed that, big time.

Trailing 17-12, Wilkins scored a layup then followed that up with a steal and three-pointer at the 7:01 mark, knotting the score at 17-17. The two squads then went back and forth, exchanging the lead three times, before Seminole took control with 4:45 left in the third.

Wilkins hit his second trey of the quarter to give the Chieftains a 27-23 lead that ballooned to 34-23 by the end of the frame. Wilkins had help as Deyton Jackson got way involved in the attack.

Jackson and Wilkins each scored 10 third quarter points and each finished with a game-high 16 points.

Seminole kept up the pressure in the opening minutes of the fourth and built their biggest lead of 46-26 on Cade Conn’s second trey of the quarter. Prague cut into the lead in the final four minutes of the game to get the deficit to 10, by the final buzzer.

She scored half of her eight points in the second quarter.

Prague led 29-22 after three quarters of play. That’s when things tightened up.

Seminole’s Anna Andrews opened the fourth with a three-point basket to cut the Prague lead down to 29-25.

Caya Wright answered with a bucket and one of two free throws, the next time down the floor to bump the lead back up to seven with 5:32 left to play.

The Lady Chieftains cut it to five one more time in the fourth , but that was their last gasp as the Lady Red Devils won going away.

Wright led all scorers with 11 points and Hodges finished with 10. Lester and Diana Manning each scored eight.
