A Tecumseh man was injured Tuesday morning when his pickup struck a tree along SH 9.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the accident occurred about 5:53 a.m. on SH 9 and Redbud, which is about 1.2 miles west of Tecumseh.
A 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Timothy J. Burks, 35, was westbound on SH 9 when the pickup departed the roadway and hit the tree, the patrol said. He was transported by REACT EMS to OU Medical Center with head, arm, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries, the OHP said, and was listed in stable condition.
It was foggy with wet roadways at the time the accident, which was investigated by Trooper Troy Thompson # 771 Pottawatomie/Lincoln County Detachment of Troop A. He was assisted by Trooper Will Arnett #216 of Troop A, as well as the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office and Bethel Fire and Rescue.
