On Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, Kenneth "Kenny" Earl Payne passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Shawnee.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, Kenneth "Kenny" Earl Payne passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Shawnee.

Kenneth Earl Payne was born on Feb. 5, 1934, the son of William Earl Payne and Mary "Mattie" Payne of Wichita, Kansas.

Kenneth served in the Army from 1952 to 1957. Kenneth graduated from Kansas State University at Wichita, Kansas, with a degree in geology. He worked as a geologist in many aspects of the oil and gas industry. He retired from the state of Oklahoma.

Kenneth married Peggy Baker-Watson on June 30, 1984.

Kenneth was a baptized member of Jehovah witnesses.

Kenny is remembered as an honorable and selfless man. Kenneth embraced his wife's seven children, together having 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by children: Thurman Earl Watson Jr. of Tulsa, Cyrus and Nacy Watson of Dallas, Texas, Bruce Mullins and Deboraha S Watson of Westwood, California, Tamaraha (Tami) Watson Shawnee, Glen and David Jackson of Oklahoma City, David Watson Plano, Texas, Jonathan Watson and Diane Gillian of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Luke and Sommer Martin of Tulsa, Andy and Jennifer Prda of Scurry, Texas, Joseph Watson of Houston, Texas, Luke Amlin of Denver, Colorado, Christopher and Sarah Elder of Sonomish, Washington, Justin Harris and Ariel Malone of Blossom, Texas, Ian Ontiberoz of Paris, Texas, Lauryn Mullins of Chico, California, Reid and Caroline Mullins of Susanville, California, Patrick Riley and Natashia Deathrage of Shawnee, Randy Deathrage of Shawnee, Joshuia Deathrage of Shawnee, Joseph and Brooke Chiles of Lewisville , Texas, Krystofer Hernandez and Channing Rountree of Texas, Hailey and Emily Gillian of Dallas, Texas, great-grandchildren: Gabe, Camreon and Sophie Martin of Tulsa, Jillion and Jaxon Prda of Scurry, Texas, Jeffery, Allysa, and Blake of Houston, Texas, Tanner Malone of Blossom, Texas, Joseph and Samathia Elder of Sonomish, Washington, Atlas Ramsey of Chico, California, Gavin Deathrage of Shawnee, Freyia Riley of Shawnee.

Kenneth was proceed in death by his father William, mother Mary, wife Peggy, grandson Bryan Denison and granddaughter Emily Amlin.

Kenny brought so much love and understanding to our family. He is missed by all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
