Citizen Potawatomi Nation Workforce and Social Services is planning to host a Community Baby Shower, honoring families from pregnancy up to 1 year of age, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 6 at the FireLake Arena, 18145 Old Rangeline Road in Shawnee.
According to a press release from CPN, “Our hope is to gather all resources in the area under one roof so that our families with young children will have access and knowledge of the programs that are available to them.”
There will be information on healthy choices, breastfeeding, safe sleep, Women Infants Children (WIC), poison control, infant CPR, educational opportunities, and more.
There will also be food, games and prizes.
Everyone from pregnancy up to 1 year of age will get a prize such as a finger cot, bottle brush, bibs or wipes. Everyone who completes a “passport” will be entered into a drawing for prizes such as blankets, Dove baby gift set, humidifier, or a forehead thermometer. Everyone who attends an educational session will be entered into a drawing for prizes such as a recliner, trundle bed or a Pendleton blanket.
The event is free and open to the public.
Those interested in being sponsors or vendors can contact Bobbi Middleton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CPN is looking for vendors and donations for door prizes for the event.
