HARRAH – The Bethel Wildcats struggled putting the ball in play, recording two hits in a 6-1 defeat at Harrah Tuesday evening.
Harrah led 1-0 after the first inning and extended its lead to 5-0 after the second frame. The Panthers added one more run in the third inning.
Jaylon Gordon and Terrell Dodson each had one hit in the loss. Dodson's hit went for a double and he scored the lone Wildcat run in the top of the sixth inning.
The team reached five times on walks, but couldn't string together any momentum. Gordon drew a team-high two walks.
Jake Williams was the losing pitcher. He went five innings and surrendered five earned runs, while striking out three.
Brendan Carlile pitched one inning in relief and struck out one batter
Bethel (1-1) will return to action Thursday with a home contest against Harrah.
