EARLSBORO – The Earlsboro Wildcats picked up their first win of the season with an 8-0 shutout of Macomb-Wanette Tuesday evening.
The game was called after the fourth inning when the Macomb-Wanette pitcher injured his right elbow.
Earlsboro scored three runs in the first inning, three in the third and piled on three more runs in the fourth.
Earlsboro relied upon starting pitcher Brandon Haynes who needed 57 pitches to pick up the win. Haynes struck out six and walked one. Haynes recorded two doubles at the plate and added three RBIs.
Clayton Stringfellow and Jeremy Grey added two hits apiece.
In his first win as coach of the Wildcats, Dillon Atkinson had his team ready to run. Chance Bohannon, Braxton Hinesley, Levi Magers, Elijah Maher, Jason Sartin and Haynes each swiped one base.
Earlsboro (1-2) will host Sasakwa Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
