OKLAHOMA CITY – Tecumseh used an offensive frenzy to destroy Southwest Covenant 22-2 Thursday.

The Savages, improving to 3-1, racked up 21 hits and 12 walks. Covenant also committed three errors in the five-inning run-rule matchup.

Tecumseh scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning and six runs in the fifth.

Jayden Shafer posted two doubles, scored twice and drove in five runs.

Kane Ainesworth went 3 for 4, all singles, while Gage Boatman, Peyton Cooper and Tyler Thompson notched two hits apiece. Colby Trammell and Thompson had a double apiece.

Thompson earned the pitching win, allowing both runs on 10 hits. He fanned four and walked one.

Tecumseh will entertain McLoud at 1 p.m. today. The Savages will play games Monday and Tuesday in Phoenix. Tecumseh will go up against Pinnacle at 1 p.m. Monday and Fossil Ridge at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
