Dr. Trevor Conklin, O.D. of Shawnee and Tecumseh Vision Source practices was announced as the winner of the Young Optometrist of the Year Award for 2019 by the Oklahoma Association of Optometry.

Conklin practices full scope primary care optometry, which includes fitting toric, bifocal, keratoconus, post-surgical and corneal refractive therapy contact lenses. Conklin is certified in the treatment of ocular diseases and certified to perform anterior ophthalmic laser procedures.

Conklin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah. Conklin also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He completed externships in ocular disease and refractive surgery in Oklahoma City. Conklin is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

Conklin is actively involved in his community. He currently serves as District 4 director for the OAOP, on the board of directors for Visavance. and as a board member of nJoy Laser Vision Correction Center in Oklahoma City.

Conklin and his wife, Megan, welcomed their first child, Cooper, in September 2018. In addition to spending time with his family, he Conklin enjoys hunting and fishing, following OU football and Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, and running.
