DALE – In the longstanding rivalry, Class 2A No. 4 Dale knocked off Class B. No. 4 Asher 4-2 Monday evening.

Dale scored one run in four straight innings to start the game, while Asher scored one run in the second and third innings.

Dale's Ike Shirey led the charge with two runs scored. Jared Rogers drove in two for a game-high.

David Herring, Jono Johnson and Cade McQuan recorded one hit apiece for Dale.

Bryson Martin and Dylan Williamson drove in one run each for the Indians.

Cooper Hunt earned the win for the Pirates.

Over the weekend, Dale was rained out of the McLoud Tournament and Asher fell to Kingston 10-0 Saturday.

Dale (7-4) will travel to No. 2 Roff Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Asher (11-5) will host 2A No. 12 Amber-Pocassett Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Dale and Asher will play again April 8 in Asher.
