Pamela Michelle (Brodersen) Snider, formerly of Shawnee, left this life on Jan. 16, 2019, in Charleston, South Carolina, at the age of 47.

A memorial service will be held at the Central church of Christ, 10th and Bell in Shawnee, on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m.

Pamela was born in Downey, California, on Dec. 10, 1971, to Dennis and Carol Brodersen, the first of their three daughters. After the Brodersen family moved to Oklahoma in 1978, all three sisters grew up in the Bethel Acres area and attended Bethel Public Schools. Pamela and her family were active members of the Lakeview church of Christ in Bethel Acres, and she loved the Lord throughout her life.

Pamela graduated from Bethel High School in 1990 and continued her studies at East Central University, earning a bachelor’s degree in early childhoodeEducation in May 1994. She then returned to her alma mater and taught kindergarten for Bethel Public Schools.

In August 1994, she married her high school sweetheart, Christopher “Blake” Snider.

Mrs. Snider, as she was known to her students, was a dedicated teacher who was passionate about the education of her students. When work took the Sniders to Ohio, Pamela continued teaching in Cleveland and went on to complete her master’s degree in special education from Kent State University in 2005. Work later took them to South Carolina, where Pam taught special education for Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner. Though the aggressive nature of her multiple sclerosis (MS) forced her to discontinue teaching, Mrs. Snider’s patience and persistence influenced kids from kindergarten to high school throughout her career.

Pamela is survived by her husband Blake and children Ian, 22, and Elizabeth, 17, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; parents Dennis and Carol Brodersen of Shawnee; sister Lysa Brodersen Park with her children Eric and Adam of Shawnee; sister Jennifer Brodersen Sharp, with her husband Brandon and children Mallory and Cash of Purcell; mother and father-in-law Mike and Judy Snider of Coweta; brother and sister-in-law Greg and Kara Snider, with their children Kayci and Grayson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who will forever be missed.
