CHANDLER — Despite a four-hit, 10-strikeout performance by pitcher Hutch Underwood, Chandler fell 2-1 to Jones Monday.

Both of the Jones’ runs, in the sixth and eighth innings, were unearned. Chandler was charged with five errors to just one for Jones.

Both teams collected four hits.

Garrett Thomsen drove in Chandler’s third-inning run with a single, scoring Carson Scribner.

Chandler’s Chabon Anderson had two singles.

Saturday, Chandler captured the 66 Conference championship by defeating Stroud 7-5.

Jarin Greenfield, Thomsen and Anderson managed two hits apiece and each had a double. Thomsen’s 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth broke the 5-5 tie.

Chandler had tied the game in the fifth on a Scribner bunt.

Drake Irby, who started on the mound for Chandler, surrendered seven hits and four runs in three innings. He fanned four.

Nick Curto, awarded the victory after pitching the last four innings, gave up one unearned run on two hits.

He whiffed four and walked four.

Stroud’s Joe Pittman clubbed a sole homer. Teammate Grant Elerick doubled twice in a 4-of-4 outing.

Chandler is 12-5.
