NEWCASTLE — Anadarko, down 6-2, tallied five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to hand Bethel a heartbreaking 7-6 setback Monday.

Bethel out-hit Anadarko 13-9 but posted three errors, leading to two unearned runs. Anadarko didn’t commit an error.

Bethel scored four times in the top of the seventh to take a short-lived 6-2 lead.

Jordyn Zachary, Lila Wade, Madison Robertson and Skylar Fletcher of Bethel recorded two hits. Rian Gamble, Zachary, Fletcher and Robertson doubled.

Bethel pitcher Audrey Wade held the victors to one extra-base hit.

In its first game of the day, Bethel was defeated 6-0 by Newcastle.

The Lady Wildcats recorded nine hits, all singles, but stranded nine baserunners.

Collecting two hits were Shelby Spurgin, Wade and Zachary.

Newcastle, possessor of 20 hits, stranded 15 runners.

Bethel, 3-14, will play two games Thursday at the Dale Festival. The Lady Wildcats will tackle Davenport at noon, followed by Holdenville at 1:20.
